Panther Swim Teams to Open Home Slate with Medaille

Bradford, Pa -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams will begin their home campaigns on Friday evening as they host Medaille in a dual meet.

The Panthers have been in action once this year as both teams traveled to Fredonia for a dual meet on October 8th. The men earned a 79-79 draw against the Blue Devils, while the women fell 114-45. The men's team saw their freshman class win 5 events as Duncan and Conan Young won two races each. Duncan won the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard freestyle, while Conan took the 100-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle. They also won an uncontested freestyle relay. New swimmers for the women's team also had a strong event as Isabella Cercone won the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breaststroke. Fellow freshman Madison Foote and Senior Adriana Gallas both had two second-place finishes as well.

The Panthers will be taking on the Medaille Mavericks. Medaille's men's team is coming off of a split at a Trimatch at Roberts Wesleyan. The Mavericks lost to the hosts 147-31 but defeated Cazenovia 66-0. The women's team was swept in the tri-match, falling to Roberts Wesleyan 157-19 and Cazenovia 98-24.

The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Paul C. Duke Aquatic Center. A link for the video live stream can be found on the Pitt-Bradford Athletics website.
