Men's Swimming Wins First Home Meet of Season

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team won its first home meet of the season on Saturday, beating Medaille 85-48 in a dual meet.

Hunter Deible was able to come away with the first win for the Panthers, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.84 seconds. Evan Fragela also made his debut for the team, finishing the event in third with a time of 30.06 seconds.

Connor Weiss also picked up a big win for the Panthers in the 100-yard breaststroke in the tightest race of the day. He won the event in a time of 1:17.11, just 3 hundredths of a second ahead of the Medaille swimmer. Weiss also picked up 9 points for winning the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.98 seconds. 

The Panthers also picked up an important 13 points in the 100-yard backstroke. Aiden Wright won the race in 1:16.36 seconds, while Craig Faris was just behind him with a time of 1:17.36.

The Panthers will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to Alfred University for an away dual meet.
