Swimming to Host Medaille in Dual Meet

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams will return to the pool on Saturday, as they host their first meet of the season. They will take on Medaille in a dual meet.

In their first meet of the season, the Panthers traveled to Erie to compete in a tri-meet with Penn State-Behrend and Medaille. The men split the day, losing to Penn state-Behrend, but beating the Mavericks 93-66.

 The Panthers' best finish of the day came in the 200-yard freestyle. The Panthers were able to win the event with a time of 1:45.70. Freshman Hunter Deible got the relay started with a 25.88 opening leg, while Owen Fitzsimmons had the best split, finishing the race with a 25.15.

Individually, CJ Faris swam the 200-yard individual medley in 2:43.40 to finish in 2nd, and Connor Weis swam the 100-yard freestyle in 1:06.40, finishing in third. Deible also had a 3rd place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a 25.69 in the event.

The Women's team lost to the hosts but picked up a tie with Medaille. Bailey Fedak was the Panthers' best swimmer on the day, as she took 2nd in two events. She swam the 50-yard freestyle in 29.28 and the 100 freestyle in 109.97. Anna Killingbeck was the only swimmer able to legally complete the 200-yard individual medley, winning the race with a time of 3:24.61.

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center.
