Panthers Wrap Up Regular Season at Penn State-Altoona

Altoona, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team brought their regular season to a close on Saturday as they lost their final dual match of the season to Penn State-Altoona 135-38.

Bailey Fedak picked up the lone event win for the Panthers, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.85. She was 1.47 seconds ahead of teammate Carly Evers, who was 2nd at 28.32. Fedak also had a 3rd-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. 

Along with her runner-up finish in the 50, Carly Evers also took 2nd in the 100-free. Her time of 1:01.53 was 3.21 seconds behind the winner. 

Skylar Bland finished with a second and a third-place finish in the event. She was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1.61 seconds behind the winner with a time of 1:07.76. In a tight 100-yard individual medley, she finished third in 1:07.63. 

Emily Slocum also picked up third-place points in the 1000-yard freestyle, posting a time of 13:11.79.

 

The Panthers ran one relay, taking 2nd in the 200-yard medley relay. Evers, Brooklyn Bellavia, Bland, and Fedak finished with a time of 2:10.11.

Pitt-Bradford finishes their regular season with a 0-7 dual meet record. They will take the next few weeks to make final preparations for the season-ending SUNYAC-AMCC Championships in Buffalo. The 4-day event will begin the championship meet on Wednesday, Feb., 19th with each day containing preliminary and final rounds.
