Panthers Wrap-Up Fredonia Invitational

Fredonia, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team brought their time at the Fredonia Invitational to a close on Sunday, finishing the event in 6th place with 271 team points.

On the final night of competition, the Panthers had four swimmers qualify for the finals over two events and fielded one team in the meet-ending 400-yard freestyle relay.

Skylar Bland was once again the top finisher for Pitt-Bradford, as she took 9th place in the 200-yard backstroke. Bland won Heat B, posting a time of 2:22.43. Emma Slocum also qualified for the event and finished 17th. Her finals time was 2:44.12, winning Heat C.

Two other Panthers qualified and competed in the 100-yard freestyle. Bailey Fedak made Heat B and finished in 16th overall. She posted a time of 1:00.48. Carly Evers made Heat C and finished in 1:01.74 to take 18th.

To close the invitational, the Panthers swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Slocum, Evers, Bland, and Fedak finished 11th with a time of 4:05.89. Skyler Bland had the top split for the Panthers with a 59.30 100. Fedak was just behind her at 59.64.

The Panthers have completed the Fall portion of their schedule. They will be back in action over the semester break, as they will travel south for warm-weather training and competitions.
