Fredonia, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team was back in the pool at Steele Hall Natatorium on Saturday, swimming on the second day of competition of the Fredonia Invitational. The Panthers had five swimmers qualify for finals and also fielded one relay team. They still sit in 6th place with 180 team points.
Skyler Bland had the best finish of the day for the Panthers. She took 4th in the 400-yard individual medley, earning 26 team points. She swam the race in 5:12.85.
Two Panthers qualified for the 200-yard freestyle. Bailey Fedak swam in heat b, finishing in 16th place with a time of 2:11.65. Emma Slocum qualified for heat c and took 22nd place. Her time was 2:23.09.
Brookelyn Bellavia and Carly Evers each qualified for the b heat in their respective events. Bellavia took 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:34.09. Evers also finished in 13th place, swimming the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.61.
Pitt-Bradford started the night with an entry in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Slocum, Bland, Fedak, and Evers finished 9th with a time of 2:06.75. Evers had the best split for Pitt-Bradford, swimming the anchor leg in 27.48 seconds.
The Panthers have one more day of competition at the Fredonia Invitational tomorrow. Pitt-Bradford swimmers will compete in the 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle. Preliminary rounds begin at 9:00 a.m.
