
ALFRED, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams competed at Alfred State of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Friday for a dual meet.
The Panthers men's team picked up a 109-84 win while the women's team fell, 105-60.
"We always have a fun time when we get together with Alfred State," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "Tonight, we swam some off events and the team reacted really well. We will go back-to-back tomorrow, which is what we will have to do in four weeks at the conference championships."
The first Panther win of the day came in the men's 200-medley relay as the team of Jared Schwab, Noah Frederick, Devyn Condon and Carey Behm finished with the winning time of 1:45.32.
The men's first individual win came in the mile as Schwab claimed the 1,000-freestyle victory with a time of 11:08.92.
Kayla Broad picked up the first win for the women's team, capturing the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:11.72.
Carey Behm completed the Pitt-Bradford sweep of the event with a first-place time of 1:52.93.
In the men's 50-freestyle, Nick Boyd earned the sprint win at 23.28.
Benjamin Koss kept the wins going for the Panthers with a victory in the 200-IM at 2:06.68.
The Panthers later swept the men's and women's 100-butterfly as Boyd and Broad both came out on top. Broad picked up the win with a time of 1:09.89 while Boyd's winning time was 57.33.
Benjamin Koss grabbed his second win of the day in the 100-freestyle with a winning time of 48.76, while Schwab took second with a time of 48.96. The Panther duo was the only two swimmers to finish the event in under 53 seconds.
Corey Koss then won the 100-backstroke at 57.67.
In the women's 500-freestyle, Beyleigh Duda picked up the victory with a time of 7:11.22. Danica Andrews finished second at 7:20.74.
In the 500-freestyle, Behm picked up his second win of the evening with a time of 5:14.27. Condon grabbed second place with a time of 5:39.24.
In the women's 100-breaststroke, Andrews grabbed first with a time of 1:34.80.
Up next, the Panthers will have a quick turnaround and host Penn State-Behrend and Wells College for a tri-meet Saturday at 4 p.m. Corey Koss will be honored for Senior Day prior to the start.
