Pitt-Bradford Women's Basketball to Host Penn State-Behrend on Senior Day

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will celebrate its three seniors, as well as seniors from the university's cheerleading squad prior to their season finale against Penn State-Behrend on Saturday afternoon.

Shirleah Ragin, Lyric Collins and Jenna Hicks are the three Panthers that will be recognized by the team Saturday. Ragin is a four-year member of the basketball team. She currently leads the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game. She has totaled 664 points, 279 rebounds, 146 assists, and 110 steals in her career. Lyric Collins has also been a four-year letter winner for the Panthers. She has played in 29 games her career, fighting through numerous injuries. Jenna Hicks has played for the Panthers for the past two seasons. She has averaged 3.72 points and 6.78 rebounds per game. She has collected 132 offensive rebounds in two seasons for the Panthers, averaging more than 2 per game.

In their game Wednesday, the Panthers fell behind D'Youville early, and despite a few comeback attempts, were never able to catch up. They fell to the Spartans 75-53. Daizjah Brown led the Panthers with 14 points in the loss. She has averaged 15 points per game in the last two contests, which has been well over her season average of 3.9 points per game. Along with Ragin's 11.1 points per game, Shaelyn Snipes scores 9.6 and Jasmin Miller adds 9.0 points per game for the Panthers.

The Lions are 15-9 this season with a 12-7 record in AMCC play. They have secured a playoff bid, and are currently in a tie for 5th place with Penn State-Altoona. They currently hold the tiebreaker over the Lions from Altoona, as they won both of the season's matchups. The Lions enter the game on a 3 game winning streak, and directly after a 67-64 upset victory over 2nd seeded Hilbert on Wednesday. Caitlin Carnuche is the Lions leading scorer, pouring in 14.3 points per game. She has the 8th best scoring average in the league. Alanna Dibble (13.3) and Ashley Seamon (11.3) also average double figures for the Lions.

In their earlier matchup this season, the Panthers held a 4th quarter lead in Erie, but were unable to hold on as Penn State-Behrend outscored Pitt-Bradford 21-12 in the final period to earn a 63-59 win. La'Shyra Williams recorded her first career double-double in the game, scoring her career-high 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Ragin added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the Panthers.

The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, with the Senior Day festivities occurring prior to tip-off.
