Panthers Extend Winning Streak To Four With Victory Over D'Youville Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team kept things rolling with a victory over D'Youville Wednesday, 80-69, in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game at the KOA Arena.

"It was another team win," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "With aggressive defensive plays, we were able to force turnovers and finish strong. Anna Colebert gave us great productive minutes tonight and helped spark us on both ends of the floor."

With the victory, the Panthers improve to 8-5 in AMCC play and 11-8 overall. The Panthers remain tied with Medaille for third place in the conference. Pitt-Bradford has now won four-straight games and seven of their last eight.

Ali Rinfrette registered a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers while playing all 40 minutes.

Jennifer Isenberg chipped in 22 points and Shaelyn Snipes scored 10.

The Pitt-Bradford offense was clicking early as the Panthers shot 10-19 (52.6 percent) for 23 points in the first quarter. Rinfrette led the way with nine points on 4-4 shooting in the quarter. 

A layup from Isenberg rounded out the scoring for the Panthers in the quarter and Pitt-Bradford took a 23-13 lead into the second quarter.

D'Youville battled all the way back in the second, outscoring the Panthers 30-21 in the quarter.

The Spartans knocked down four three-pointers to aid a 12-23 shooting mark in the quarter to cut the deficit.

After D'Youville took the lead, Colebert knocked down a three-ball to regain the lead, 35-34, with 2:29 left in the half.

The two teams traded buckets and eventually, D'Youville held a 43-41 lead with 14 seconds left in the half.

But Colebert hit a three-ball from the wing with six seconds left, and the Panthers took a 44-43 lead into the break.

The third quarter belonged to Isenberg, whose baseline drives were nearly unstoppable. 

The junior erupted for 14 points in the quarter, going 6-10 from the field while also grabbing four boards.

The team scored 18 total points in the quarter and the Panthers ended the third holding a 10-points advantage, 62-52. 

D'Youville turned the ball over seven times in the third quarter.

The two team put together an evenly matched fourth quarter, but Rinfrette took the lead on offense with nine points in the quarter to hold off D'Youville and grab the 80-69 win.

In addition to Rinfrette's 11 boards, Isenberg grabbed eight while Etreece Adams pulled down six.

Bri Wells dished out a game-best nine assists. 

Rinfrette led the way with four steals while Wells and Colebert grabbed three each.

Pitt-Bradford turned the ball over just 10 times and forced 23 D'Youville turnovers.

Up next, the Panthers will head to Mount Aloysius looking to extend their winning streak to five straight Saturday.
