BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team resumed its 2018-19 season at Medaille Saturday.
The Mavericks picked up the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win, 8-1.
"Jeff stayed positive during a tough tiebreaker," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "He set of points, had better court positioning and picked moments to attack the net. As a team, we need to get our balance back and play our game with more variety of shots."
The lone Pitt-Bradford point of the game came in No. 2 singles as Jeffrey Kocjancic came out on top in a competitive match, 7-5, 2-6, 14-12.
In No. 2 doubles, the tandem of Matt Dennis and Brandon Charnisky put together a close match but narrowly fell 8-5.
Charnisky also worked a competitive No. 6 singles match but fell 7-6, 6-2.
Jacob Volz, Drew Patla, Jonathan Azcona and Noah Bartholomew also competed for the Panthers.
