Bradford, Pa. -- Conan Young of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team picked up 3 all-conference honors on Friday after his performance at last week's SUNYAC-AMCC Swimming and Diving Championships.
In the AMCC, All-Conference Honors are decided by individual swimmer's finishes at the championship meet.
Young had a dominant week in Buffalo, N.Y., finishing first or second in all three of his individual events. His best event was the 1650-yard Freestyle, where he was the meet champion and earned 1st Team honors. Young swam the mile-long race in 16:18.96, finishing 2.76 seconds ahead of the runner up.
He also picked up a pair of 2nd team honors. In the 500-yard freestyle he finished second overall in a tight race. Young swam the race in 4:40.73, which was 1.15 seconds behind the winner. Lastly, Young was 3rd overall and 2nd in the AMCC in the multi-disciplinary 400-yard individual medley.
Conan is not a stranger to the AMCC All-Conference list. He has been the first-team representative in the 1650 for three seasons in a row, and was 2nd in the 400 IM as a sophomore and 2nd in the 500 freestyle as a freshman.
