Panthers Fall to Saxons

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team returned to the pool in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center for a dual meet with the Alfred University Saxons. The Panthers were unable to keep up with the Saxons, who were able to fill most events with maximum participants. The final score was 150-39.

Duncan Young came away with the lone win for the Panthers. Swimming in the 200 yard individual medley, Young outreached his opponent, taking the race by .32 seconds. His final time was 2:13.39. He also swam in the 100-yard freestyle, taking second with a time of 53.00 seconds. He was 0.44 seconds off the winner. Duncan's brother, Conan, also had a strong meet. Conan took 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.02. He was just outtouched at the wall, finishing just .19 seconds after the winner. He also took 4th in a hotly contested 100-yard butterfly that saw all four participants finish within 2.25 seconds. His time was 57.74.

Sam Wright had a 2nd place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.70 seconds, and also took 4th in the 50-free, finishing in 24.34 seconds. The Panthers closed the match with a 2nd place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. They swam the race in 1:40.57. 

The Panthers will be back in action over the weekend, as they will host AMCC foe Penn State-Behrend. The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 in the Duke Aquatic Center.
