Panthers Return to Action, Drop Dual Meet with Penn State-Altoona

Altoona, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swim team returned to action for the first time in the new year, falling to Penn State-Altoona by a score of 130-28.

The Panthers were unable to come away with any event wins but were able to record some strong times for their first time in the pool this year.

Hunter Deible had a strong meet for the Panthers, coming away with a 2nd place finish in the 100-yard butterfly and a 3rd place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. He also swam the best leg of the Panthers' 200-yard medley relay, finishing the butterfly portion of the race with a time of 27.96 seconds. Deible also posted times of 27.15 seconds in the 50-freestyle and 1:08.35 in the 100-butterfly.

Connor Weiss came away with two third-place finishes individually and swam the breaststroke leg of the medley relay. He finished the 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.76 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.56 seconds. He completed his leg of the relay in 35.23 seconds. 

Aiden Wright and Matt Gullotti also swam in three events each for the Panthers. Wright collected 7 points to go along with his backstroke leg of the medley relay, while Gullotti scored 4. 

The Panthers will be back in the Paul C Duke III Aquatic Center for their next dual meet, as they host Medaille in a previously postponed matchup. The dual meet will take place on Thursday, January 27th, and begin at 3:00 p.m.
