Panthers Win Tri-Meet

Aurora, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team was able to pick up two victories at a tri-meet over Wells and SUNY Delhi. The Panthers picked up 92 points, while Wells finished with 38 and SUNY Delhi finished with 35.

The Panthers started the meet off with a win, as they were the only team to complete the 200-yard medley relay. The Panthers finished with a time of 2:05.22. Aiden Wright swam the opening late and was followed by Connor Weiss, Hunter Deible, and Owen Fitzsimmons.

The Panthers were also able to close the match strong, winning the 200-yard freestyle relay. Deible, Wright, Weiss, and Fitzsimmons won the race with a time of 1:44.81 seconds. They beat the relay team from SUNY Delhi bu just over a second.

CJ Faris was able to pick up 27 points for the Panthers as he swam in 3 events without competition. He started his day in the 200-yard freestyle, where he swam the event in 2:23.93. His next race was in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:43.68. His day finished with the 200-yard individual medley, which he completed in a time of 2:39.78.

The Panthers were also able to pick up a full complement of points in the 500-yard freestyle. Aiden Wright won the event with a time of 6:00.79, while Owen Fitzsimmons finished just behind him with a time of 6:06.41.

Pitt-Bradford also had 3 2nd place finishers. Connor Weiss took second in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Fitzsimmons finished in second in the 50-yard freestyle and Hunter Deible took second in the 100-yard freestyle.

The Panthers will host Jamestown Community College in an exhibition match next Saturday, before going on break. They will return to action in the spring on January 8th in a tri-match with Buffalo State and Wells.
