Panthers Fall to Presidents

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team hosted Washington and Jefferson in a dual meet in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic center, losing the dual match 153-50.

CJ Faris had a strong outing for the Panthers as he took 2nd place in three different events. He swam the opening leg in the 200-yard medley relay, which the Panthers finished in 2:00.68, finishing 6 seconds behind the winning team. He followed that up with a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. He swam the 100 in 1:14.33, shaving 3 seconds off of his seed time.  Faris also took 2nd place points in the 500-yard freestyle, which he swam in 6:14.96.

Connor Weiss and Owen Fitzsimmons had close calls for the Panthers, just missing out on winning events. Weiss swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.91, finishing less than a second behind the winner from Washington & Jefferson, who finished in 1:15.06. Fitzsimmons finished in a tight group in the 50-yard freestyle. He finished the race in 25.83. He was .17 seconds behind the second-place finisher and 1.34 seconds after the winner.

Hunter Deible picked up a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming the event in 1:04.64. The Panthers closed the event strong, swimming the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:45.29 seconds, finishing 6 seconds off the pace.

The Panthers will take the holiday weekend off, and return to action on December 4th for their final meet of the Fall Semester.  They will travel to Wells for their 4th dual meet of the season.
