Panther Swimmers Drop Dual Meet at Alfred U

Alfred, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team was back in action this weekend, falling to Alfred University in a dual meet 131-46.

The Panthers were able to win two events on the day. They took the maximum points in the 100-yard breaststroke and were able to with the 500-yard freestyle as well. In the breaststroke, Connor Weiss was able to come away with the win after posting a time of 1:18.22. Aiden Wright finished just behind Weiss with a time of 1:19.12 and Evan Fragela took third in his first collegiate meet.

Owen Fitzsimmons was able to come away with the win in the distance event. He won the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:25.43. Hunter Deible had a strong race in the 100-yard butterfly, taking third place with a time of 1:03.95. The 200-yard medley relay team of CJ Faris, Weis Deible, and Fitzsimmons finished the race in 4th but were able to shave a second off their best time of the season.

The Panthers will have two weeks before their next meet when they host Washington and Jefferson in a dual meet on November 20th. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start in the Paul C Duke III Aquatic Center.
