Frederick, Condon Swim In Finals Events During Wooster Invite Third Day

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams wrapped up action in the three-day Wooster Invitational Saturday.

The Pitt-Bradford men's team finished ninth of 10 teams with 111.5 points. The Panthers women's team finished 12th out of 12 teams.

"Noah and Devyn had some nice swims to get into finals today and were able to improve tonight as well," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "This was a challenging weekend against some very tough competition. We performed fairly well and can take a lot away from this seem to put towards our peak training over the break. We will now set our sights on the AMCC Championships in February."

For the second-straight day, Noah Frederick competed in the finals of a breaststroke event, this time, the 200-breast.

Frederick finished 18th with a time of 2:17.95, improving upon his time of 2:20.84 that helped him qualify during the prelims.

Devyn Condon competed in the 200-butterfly finals and finished 23rd with a time of 2:09.91, besting his time of 2:11.63 from the morning's prelims that qualified him for the finals.

Chris Troll competed in the preliminaries in the event, finishing in 2:18.03.

In the women's 100-freestyle prelims, Kayla Broad timed in at 59.35.

Caleb Hansen and Devin Kerr swam in the 100-freestyle prelims, Hansen finishing in 50.40 and Kerr in 1:45.84.

Alexia Garcia competed in the women's 200-breaststroke preliminaries and finished with a time of 3:07.49.

The event wrapped up with the 400-freestyle relay. The team of Hansen, Frederick, Condon and Troll finished 17th with a time of 3:29.38, trimming over eight seconds from their seed time.

The Panthers swim teams will be off from competition for a few weeks before returning to action Jan. 12 in a tri-meet at Buffalo State with Wells.
