Koss Leads UPB Men's Swim to Victory at Alfred State

Corey Koss had a terrific day in the pool, picking up two individual victories and a relay win, helping the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swimming team to a 107-87 victory at Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.

"Both teams worked really hard this week in practice," said Pitt-Bradford interim head coach Jamie Hannold. "We had a lot of great swims."

Koss' individual victories came in the 200 back (2:14.42) and 200 IM (2:18.40)

Carey Behm continued his stellar freshman season by winning the 1000 free (11:00.38) and 500 free (5:14.17).
Jeff Cattoni was also impressive, earning a victory in the 200 breast (2:29.97) while teaming with Koss, Alex Renwick and Lucas Cerchiaro to win the 400-medley relay (3:53.25). Cattoni was also part of the winning 400 free relay team alongside Zack France, Renwick and Cerchiaro (3:34.57).

Cerchiaro won the 200 fly (2:06.38) while France added second place finishes in the 200 free (1:55.66) and the 500 free (5:34.17).

Chandler Nickels rounded out the Panther's successful day with a third place finish in the 500 free (6:14.59).

"I am really proud of this team and how far they have come since November," Hannold said. "We are going to continue working hard for the next couple of weeks to get ready for the AMCC Championships."

The Panthers return to the pool Friday evening to host Penn State Behrend at 5 p.m. in their final tune up before the AMCC Championships at Grove City College on Feb. 10-13.
