GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford suffered a 3-0 setback at Thiel Tuesday night.

"The first half was a fairly even," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "But Thiel was able to capitalize on their chances. We had some for ourselves, but could not capitalize."

The Tomcats grabbed an early 1-0 lead at the 8:41 mark as they made the most of a corner kick attempt.

The two teams went into the break with Thiel ahead, 1-0, but a quick goal 2:14 into the second half doubled the Tomcats' lead.

The Panthers had their chances to get on the board, as they forced the Thiel keeper to make six saves. Ryuta Hayakawa and Wyatt May put a pair of shots on goal each, while Ugwunna Amadi and Steven McFetridge both fired shots on goal as well.

One final Thiel goal with under 20 minutes left in the game would secure them the 3-0 win.

Derrick Brock matched the Thiel keeper as he made six saves, playing all 90 minutes in goal.

Both teams were whistled for 12 fouls apiece.

Tuesday's action at Thiel marks the final game of a three-game road trip for the Panthers. Pitt-Bradford will play its home opener Friday as Allegheny comes to town at 4 p.m.
