Bradford, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's basketball teams will start a three-game home stand by hosting Mount Aloysius on Saturday afternoon. The games will serve as the 5th Annual "Teal There's a Cure" games, in which Pitt-Bradford Athletics collaborates with the Evans-Krivic Gynecological Cancer Research Foundation to raise funds and awareness for ovarian cancer.

The Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team returns to KOA Arena in search of their first win in AMCC play.  In their last game, the Panthers fell to Hilbert despite 17 points and 7 rebounds from Nick Carmichael. He is shooting 52.5% overall and 39.4% from three. Fellow freshmen Dylan Meyer and Daniel Lynch are the next most potent scorers for Pitt-Bradford, averaging 8 and 7.2 points per game respectively.

The Mounties enter the contest 11-11 on the season with an 8-9 record in AMCC play. They are coming off of a 6 point loss to Pitt-Greensburg. The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team will be looking to pick up their first win of 2020 when they host the Mounties on Saturday. In their mid-week matchup at Hilbert, the Panthers got off to a slow start, falling behind the Hawks 24-8 after one quarter. They played much better over the middle portion of the game, cutting the lead to 10, but were unable to complete the comeback, falling 74-60. La'Shyra Williams led the Panthers with 16 points on 5-8 from the field. Pitt-Bradford had 3 other players finish in double figures. They were Shirleah Ragin (13), Jasmin Miller (12), and Jenna Hicks (10). The Panthers have a balanced scoring attack that sees 3 players average more than 9 points per game. Senior Shirleah Ragin is the leader for Pitt-Bradford as she scores 10.7 per contest. Junior Shaelyn Snipes scores 9.5 per game, while sophomore Jasmin Miller averages 9.2.

Mount Aloysius comes to Bradford with a 4-18 record overall and is just ahead of the Panthers in AMCC play, holding a 3-14 conference record. They fell in their midweek game at Pitt-Greensburg by a score of 80-60. The Mounties also have only 1 double-digit scorer, freshman Carly Stigers, who averages 10.2 points per game. Junior Rachel Robinson scores 8.8 per contest and Ryanna Hockenos scores 8.8 per game. The Mounties won the first game between the teams, beating the Panthers 59-48.

Along with the action on the court, gameday staff and representatives of the Evans-Krivak foundation will be running raffles for gift baskets and gift cards from local stores and restaurants as well as a silent auction for three big-ticket items. The prizes for the silent auction are a basketball signed by Pittsburgh University head men's basketball coach Jeff Capel, a football signed by Pittsburgh University head football coach Pat Narduzzi and 4 tickets to a University of Pittsburgh basketball game at Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh. All money raised will be donated to the Evans-Krivak Foundation. The foundation was created by Bradford residents, Dr. George, and Susan Evans. Susan is an ovarian cancer survivor herself and established the fund in honor of Dr. Thomas Krivak, the doctor who treated her.
