Men's Basketball to Take on Medaille Before Starting Holiday Break

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Men's Basketball team will take on the Medaille College Mavericks in their final game of the Fall portion of their season on Monday night.

The Panthers (1-6, 0-4 AMCC) are coming off of a 98-68 loss to Franciscan. In the contest, Pitt-Bradford was unable to stay with the Barons who shot 48.6% from the field and 50% from three. Conversely, the Panthers shot 39.3% and 11.1% from beyond the arc. Nick Carmichael set a new career high, leading the way with 24 points. He shot 10-18 from the field and 4-5 from the charity stripe. He also grabbed 7 rebounds. Justin Kusiappouh recorded his 5th double double of the season, finishing with 18 and 10. Freshman Gavin Boggs also put up double digit points, scoring 11. For the season, Carmichael and Kusiappouh are neck and neck in points per game. Carmichael is averaging 13.6, while Kusiappouh is scoring 13.3. Kusiappouh is the leagues leading rebounder, averaging 11.3 boards per contest. 

The visiting Mavericks are currently 2-7 on the season, with an 0-4 record in AMCC Play. Their last game was a 79-90 loss to LaRoche. Kirk Hawkins is the Mavericks main scorer, as he is averaging 19.1 points per game, the second highest average in the AMCC. Jonathan Smith is the team's second leading scorer, scoring 15.9 per game. He is also the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 8.3 per game. Medaille averages 79.9 points per game while allowing 84.0. They are shooting 45% from the field and 32.2% from three. 

The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 p.m. The game will mark the end of the Panther's Fall schedule, as they will go on holiday break afterwards, returning prior to their December 29th trip to Rochester to play in St. John Fisher's Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament.
