PITTSBURGH -- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's first-place La Roche Redhawks defeated the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team Saturday.

"We really struggled to get in sync offensively tonight," Head Coach Ryan Shay said. "Defensively, I thought we were playing tough but just allowed too many second-chance opportunities."

After the result of the road test, Pitt-Bradford drops to 2-6 in conference play while La Roche remains blemish free in AMCC action, sitting atop the conference at 9-0.

Reggie Rogers and Dylan Mitchell led the Panthers' scoring efforts with 11 points apiece.

Ugwunna Amadi chipped in eight points and six boards. George Alston led the squad with seven rebounds.

Pitt-Bradford did a solid job getting to the line, shooting 21 free throws and only sending La Roche to the line to shoot 12.

The first six minutes saw a competitive battle, as the lead changed hands nine times before La Roche went on a run from which it would never look back.

The Redhawks eventually took a 37-19 lead into the half.

Pitt-Bradford used 10 made free throws in the second half to put together a stronger second half offensively, but it would not be enough as La Roche shot 44.4 percent from the floor and made a trio of three-pointers in the half to hold on for the win.

Both teams turned the ball over an equal 15 times each.

The Panthers collected seven total steals, led by a pair each from Mitchell and Amadi.

Up next, the Panthers will stay on the road to face Fredonia Tuesday then return home to host D'Youville Wednesday for an 8 p.m. tip.
