BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team split both sides of a doubleheader with Pitt-Greensburg Saturday at the Kessel Athletics Complex, taking game two in walk-off fashion.

Pitt-Bradford (14-10, AMCC 7-5) dropped the opener, 1-0, then Jason Lucarelli came home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth for the walk-off win in game two.

"Hard fought split," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "Reid pitched well enough to win game one and was a tough-luck loser. Game two, we battled back and forth for momentum and our guys took advantage of their opportunities late to take the game. Both very fun games to be a part of."

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Lucarelli and Kevin Rehak started the inning with back-to-back singles then the Bobcats loaded the bases by intentionally walking Austin Parent.

Jake McNabb then stepped in and struck out on a ball in the dirt that got past the catcher, allowing Lucarelli to slide in safely at home and secure the walk-off win.

Both teams posted zeroes through the first six innings until the Panthers broke the silence in the bottom of the sixth as Justin Dattoli scored on a wild pitch.

In order to get there, though, Alex Miles found himself in a bases-loaded, no outs jam in the top of the sixth. 

Rehak fielded a hard grounder off Miles' glove and fired home for the first out. Then a 5-4-3 double play ended the threat.

Pitt-Greensburg tied it in the seventh, plating one on a Pitt-Bradford fielding error.

But the Panthers got the run back and regained the lead.

Matt Hair ripped a leadoff double to left center, then David Gebhard came in to run representing the go-ahead run.

He moved up to third on a sacrifice bunt then scored on a ground ball that made its way through the Bobcat shortstop's legs.

But a leadoff walk in the top of the ninth eventually scored and Pitt-Greensburg tied it up in the top of the ninth, setting up for the Panthers' heroic frame.

Miles tossed 6.1 innings, walking just one, before handing the ball off to Alex Andrzejewski, who tossed 1.2 innings of dominant relief as four of the five outs he recorded came by way of a strike out.

Nate Renick tossed the ninth inning and earned the win, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Lucarelli and Tyler Aires had two hits apiece.

Parent walked five times.

Game one was pitchers' duel, as the two teams combined for just seven hits.

Reid Tarnowski took a no-hitter into the fourth inning and matched zeroes with his counterpart until the Bobcats plated the lone run of the ballgame on an RBI double in the sixth.

Tarnowski struck out three in seven innings while scattering five hits.

Tyler Hoops and Parent dropped in hits for the Panthers.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will head to Penn State-Behrend for a doubleheader Tuesday.
