ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team competed in its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road contests Tuesday at Penn State-Altoona.

The Panthers (9-9, 2-4 AMCC) split the two games with the Lions, first taking game one 10-1 before falling 10-4 in game two.

"A hard-fought split," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "Bachy threw great game one. And we swung it well. Rehak had a big day. That's what happens when we put it all together. Game two, we made too many errors that hurt us. Eddy battled, but just a lot to overcome. Proud of the way the guys battled."

Andrew Bacha tossed all seven innings on the mound in game one to earn the complete-game victory. The junior scattered four hits and struck out six while surrendering one earned run.

Then in the second game, a two-run homer from Austin Parent highlighted the Panthers' offensive effort.

Kevin Rehak went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored in his first career game as the Panther leadoff hitter in game one. His classmate Jake McNabb added three hits while Matt Hair and Jason Lucarelli knocked in a pair of runs apiece.

The Panthers got the day started right with a three-spot in the first.

Rehak scored on a bases-loaded walk, Robert Sawicki scored on a ball in play by Hair and Samuel Dreistadt singled home Tyler Hoops.

Altoona scored its lone run of the ballgame in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly.

It was all Panthers the rest of the way as a Hair sacrifice fly, a two-run double from Lucarelli and a two-run single from Rehak made up a five-run third and extended the lead to 8-1.

Sawyer Packard later scored on a Rehak single in the sixth and Hoops came home on a wild pitch in the seventh to give the Panthers their eventual 10-1 final advantage.

Pitt-Bradford put together a clean game defensively behind Bacha, making zero defensive errors.

In the second game, the Lions took an early lead with a pair of runs in the first.

After a quiet second and third innings, Altoona doubled its lead with a two-run single in the fourth.

The Panthers got on the board in the sixth and got those two runs back as Sawicki sent home Lucarelli and Rehak scored on a wild pitch.

But Altoona would once again increase its lead with two runs in the sixth and then a of two-run single and a two-run homer in the seventh to go up 10-2.

Parent cut into the lead with a two-run shot to right, but that's as close as the Panthers would get and the Lions held on for the 10-4 win.

Logan Edmonds started on the mound for the Panthers and went 5.1 innings, striking out five and surrendering three earned runs.

Alex Andrzejewski threw 1.2 innings of relief and gave up four earned while striking out a pair and Tyler Aires threw the last inning and struck out two as well.

The Pitt-Bradford defense was marked with five errors while Altoona made three.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will return home and host D'Youville Saturday for an AMCC doubleheader.
