FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team continued its Florida trip with a split with Haverford Tuesday capped by a thrilling comeback in game two.

"We saw a couple of solid outings on the bump from two freshmen, Edmonds and Tarnowski against a good team," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "They kept us in both games. We adjusted a little too late in game one and in game two we grinded the game out. We hit the ball well early without many falling, but the guys battled to come back and our pen shut the door. Very proud of the way we battled."

Haverford topped the Panthers in the morning's action, 6-1, but pulled off a come-from-behind 4-2 win in the second game.

In game two, Haverford held a 2-0 lead into the sixth. 

With two outs in the top of the sixth, Sawyer Packard walked, Jake McNabb reached on a dropped third strike and Samuel Dreistadt walked to load the bases.

Jason Lucarelli then walked to give the Panthers their first run of the game, and then Tyler Hoops was hit by a pitch to bring in the tying run.

Robert Sawicki then worked a walk to bring in the winning run.

Into hold the lead, Nate Renick came in to throw the bottom of the sixth in relief. He left a pair of runners stranded and maintained the lead.

The Panthers scored their fourth run in the top of the seventh as Matt Hair scored on a bases-loaded walk from Lucarelli.

Ben Suter came into pitch the bottom of the seventh looking to close out the victory.

After two quick outs, a single and a walk brought the winning run to the plate.

But Suter induced a flyout to Packard in centerfield and sealed the win.

Reid Tarnowski started for the Panthers and went five innings while striking out four and giving up just three hits en route to earning his first career victory.

Austin Parent knocked a pair of hits while Sawicki, Hair, McNabb and Lucarelli recorded a hit apiece.

In game one, Haverford scored a run in the top of the first and the fourth then put together a four-run inning in the seventh to make up its offense.

Pitt-Bradford was held to two hits from Kevin Rehak and an RBI single from Joshua Zelinski, which brought home McNabb.

Logan Edmonds started for the Panthers and delivered six innings surrendering one earned run and striking out two.

Benjamin Hayes came on in relief and pitched the seventh.

The Panthers will be in action next on Thursday for a twin bill against Wisconsin Lutheran starting at 9 a.m. at Player Development Complex.
