Panthers Baseball To Travel To Mount Aloysius For Make-Up Game Tuesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team will head to Mount Aloysius for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest Tuesday.

The single nine-inning game is the second of a doubleheader that was started on April 15 but called off due to heavy fog. Pitt-Bradford took game one, 17-11.

The contest was the finale to a red-hot week for Austin Parent, who was awarded National Player of the Week -- among other awards -- for a stat line that included a grand slam, two doubles and five RBIs against the Mounties in the single game.

Pitt-Bradford enters Tuesday's contest with an 8-7 mark in AMCC action, which is good for fifth in the conference.

The Panthers are coming off a weekend highlighted by a victory in game two of a doubleheader against Penn State-Behrend, the program's first win against the Lions since March 31, 2010.

On the season, Parent remains one of the top players in the nation, sitting top-five nationally in batting average (.474) and on-base percentage (.605).

He has also hit safely in 12-straight games.

In conference play, Jay Clinger owns the second-highest batting average on the team at .392.

Dalton Renn has the second-most RBIs against conference opponents on the team with 17.

Mount Aloysius is 6-9 in AMCC action heading into the week. The Mounties will play Medaille for their final doubleheader Monday before welcoming the Panthers Tuesday. Matt McCourt is one of the top power hitters in the AMCC as he's hit the second-most home runs in the conference with 10.
