BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team picked up two more Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference wins as they swept D'Youville Sunday.

"The guys played some inspired baseball today," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "It was fun to watch them go out and string a sweep together. We swung the bats very well and had some gutsy performances on the mound. I'm proud of the way they played this weekend."

The Panther bats were alive, as they scored a combined 27 runs and dropped in a combined 25 base hits on the day.

Pitt-Bradford battled from being down in both games. In the first, D'Youville scored two in the bottom of the first, and a six-run sixth inning in game two helped the Panther come from behind and take a commanding lead.

Tim Brown led the way, doubling in each game with three total RBIs.

Nick Blovsky erupted for five RBIs in game two on a 3-for-5 performance.

Alex Andrzejewski tossed all seven innings on the mound in game one while striking out 11 to earn the victory.

With the sweep, the Panthers are now 13-10 on the season and 7-4 in AMCC action, which is good for third place in the conference.

Game One: Pitt-Bradford 12, D'Youville 3

An RBI single and a Panther error gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

But the Panthers scored four runs in the third and never looked back.

Sawyer Packard, Austin Parent, Jay Clinger and Brody Wood all worked RBI base hits to make up the four runs.

Tyler Hoops scored in the fourth on a misplay by the Spartan defense on a ball off the bat of Packard.

The Spartans scored their third and final run of the game on a wild pitch in the fourth.

But Brown came across to score in the fifth on a passed ball to get the run back.

The Panthers took their eventual final 12-3 lead in the sixth with six runs.

Brown, Jason Lucarelli and Parent doubled while Packard knocked a two-run single. Wood also drove in a run in the inning.

On the mound, Andrzejewski earned the complete-game victory while striking out 11, scattering just four hits and giving up two earned runs.

Game Two: Pitt-Bradford 15, D'Youville 8

The Spartans jumped out to a two-run lead on an RBI double and single, but the Panthers got both back with a run each in the second and third as Blovsky and Clinger knocked in runs.

D'Youville rallied in the fourth with four runs, taking a 6-2 lead.

The Panthers answered in the sixth, hanging a six-spot for the second-straight game. 

Packard and Parent scored on Spartan errors, then Brown worked a bases-loaded walk.

Blovsky came through with the big hit, a two-run single up the middle that gave Pitt-Bradford a 7-6 lead.

A sacrifice fly from Packard that scored Brown rounded out the scoring for the inning with the Panthers ahead 8-6.

Pitt-Bradford built its lead in the seventh as Wood drove an RBI single and Hoops sent two home on a base hit.

D'Youville got two back in the seventh, but in the top of the eighth, Brown walked with the bases loaded once again, Blovsly came through with another two-run single and Hoops gave the Panthers their 15th run with an RBI double.

Nate Renick made the start on the mound for the Panthers and went 3.2 innings before being relieved by the eventual winner, Sam Gwiazdinski. Benjamin Hayes got the last six outs for the Panthers.

Renick struck out two and surrendered six runs before Gwiazdinski struck out one and gave up two runs. Hayes struck out one of the nine batters he faced.

Up next, the Panthers will be off until next weekend to focus on final exams. Pitt-Bradford will celebrate Senior Day Saturday as La Roche comes to town.
