BRADFORD, Pa. - Pitt-Bradford baseball snapped its five-game losing streak Tuesday, sweeping visiting Hilbert in an AMCC doubleheader. The Panthers won the opener, 11-4, and pulled away late in game two for a 15-5 triumph.

Dalton Renn hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the fifth inning to lead the Panthers to a victory in game one.

Hilbert raced out to a 2-0 lead only to see the Panthers storm back and grab the lead in their half of the first. Dalton Renn doubled in Brock Blovsky, who singled with one out, and two batters later, Austin Parent drove a pitch over the wall in left field for his second home run of the season.

Kyle Hunt stretched the Pitt-Bradford lead to 4-2 in the fourth, but Hilbert strung together four hits in the fifth to tie the game.

Brody Wood and Tyler Hoops led off the Panthers half of the frame with consecutive singles, and two batters later, Renn followed with a towering shot to left centerfield that struck the scoreboard. It was his team-leading fourth long ball of the season.

Three straight hits led to another Panther run, and Brody Wood cleared the bases with a double to right field, extending the lead to 11-4. The Hawks scored in each of the final two innings but were ultimately done in by the big inning.

Ryan Northcott pitched into the seventh to earn the win, allowing six runs, four earned, on 11 hits. He walked two and struck out three while earning his third win of the season. Nate Renick came on in relief to record the final three outs.

Renn finished 2-4 with four RBIs, and Parent added three hits to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.

Pitt-Bradford went ahead in game two in the third with four runs. Wood singled to lead off, and Tyler Hoops followed with a walk. After a sacrifice bunt to move the runners into scoring position, Renn lined a double to right field, scoring both Wood and Hoops. Renn would score on Jay Clinger's triple, and Parent capped the inning with a RBI sacrifice fly.

Hilbert rallied, scoring a pair of runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to trim the Pitt-Bradford advantage to 6-5.

Parent drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth, and Pitt-Bradford put the game away with a six-run seventh. Tyler Hoops, Clinger and Hunt each had two RBIs in the scoring outburst.

After running into trouble in the middle innings, starter Justin Beimel settled down, retiring eight of the final nine batters he faced. With the bases loaded in the fifth and the Hawks threatening to tie the game, he struck out Hilbert's Ian Moran looking to end the threat, arguably the biggest play of the game.

Beimel went eight innings, giving up five runs, four earned, on eight hits. He walked four and struck out two. Abe Frech pitched a scoreless ninth inning.

Clinger led the Panthers, going 4-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Hoops added three hits and drove in three, and Blovsky, Hunt and Parent had two hits apiece.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 10-18 on the season and 5-5 in the AMCC. The Panthers host Mt. Aloysius Saturday at 1 p.m.
