BRADFORD, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford baseball team split an AMCC doubleheader with Pitt-Greensburg Sunday, cruising to a 10-3 victory in game one before letting an early lead slip away in game two and falling 11-8.

Ryan Boyer earned his second straight win by scattering four hits and two runs over six innings pitched in the opening contest. He struck out seven and worked around a season-high seven walks.

The Panthers staked Boyer to an early lead, blitzing Pitt-Greensburg starter Billy Elliott for six runs, chasing the right-hander from the contest after just two-thirds of an inning. Dalton Renn and Brody Wood each had RBI singles in the frame, and Austin Parent and Samuel Dreistadt added two-run base hits.

Pitt-Bradford scored a run in the third on Tyler Hoops' sacrifice fly, and the Panthers tacked on three more in the sixth. Every Panther batter recorded a hit but one, and the Blue and Gold outhit the Bobcats 12-5.

Hoops finished 3-3 with a pair of runs scored, and Parent totaled three RBIs. Nate Renick pitched the seventh inning, surrendering a RBI groundout.

The Panthers jumped ahead 6-0 after two innings in the nightcap but faltered late, as Pitt-Greensburg scored eight runs over a span of four innings to deal Pitt-Bradford its first conference loss.

The Bobcats put the game out of reach in the ninth with a trio of insurance runs. Pitt-Greensburg finished with 19 total hits, and Andrew Bacha and Abe Frech combined to give up six runs in relief. Starter Matthew Hogue gave up six runs, five earned, on 12 hits over six innings.

Renn was 2-5 with a RBI, and Hoops went 1-2, driving in a run, walking twice and scoring three times.

Pitt-Bradford moves to 8-14 on the season and 3-1 in the AMCC. The Panthers travel to Penn State Behrend Wednesday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
