BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team (10-19, 4-8) dropped both games of an AMCC doubleheader against Mount Aloysius (20-14, 7-5) on Saturday afternoon at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

Jacob Rivers led the Panthers at the plate in the opener, going 2-3 with a solo homer while Brock Blovsky added two hits. Brody Wood, Pat James and Tim Brown chipped in with one hit each. Ryan Boyer took the loss on the mound, allowing five earned runs on six hits while striking out three over four innings of work. Jonathan Polanco surrendered one run on two hits in the final three innings of relief.

Bryn Brown led the Mounties with three hits while Ian Hensel drove in two runs. Christopher Nolan picked up the win, tossing a complete game (seven innings), allowing two earned runs on seven hits while striking out five.

Mount Aloysius struck first on a Connor Bowie RBI single and then picked up their second run of the inning on a passed ball, taking a 2-0 lead after one.

Rivers got one back for the Panthers with a solo shot in the home half of the third.

The Mounties did the majority of their damage with a four-run fourth. Jesse Bortner started the rally with a sacrifice fly to left while Matthew McCourt followed with a two-run triple and Ian Heisel laced an RBI double, extending the Mountie's lead to 6-1 after four.

Both teams would add a run in the fifth, but the Mounties hung on for the 7-2 victory in the opener.

The Panthers nearly erased a seven-run deficit in the second game, but ultimately fell, 11-8.

Austin Parent led the Panthers at the plate, going 4-5 with two RBI while Jay Clinger went 3-5 with a solo shot and Blovsky added two more hits. Dalton Renn, Tim Brown, Pat James and Brody Wood drove in one run each in the loss.

Ryan Northcott was hit with the loss, allowing nine earned runs on 14 hits while striking out two over seven innings. Ben Hayes gave up one run on four hits in two innings out of the bullpen.

Bortner led the Mounties at the plate, going 2-5 with three RBI while Benjamin Legath and Heisel drove in two runs each. Jacob Bryja picked up the win on the mound, allowing five runs on eight hits while Rodney Patterson picked up his third save of the year with three scoreless innings of relief.

The Mounties did the majority of their scoring in the first five innings, taking a 10-3 lead into the home half of the fifth.

The Panther offense heated up in the fourth with three runs in the first on Clinger's two-run blast and Wood's RBI single to left. Parent and Brown added RBI singles in the fifth, tightening the Mountie's lead to 10-5.

Pitt-Bradford added three more in the seventh on RBI singles from Renn and Parent and then a sacrifice fly by Pat James, cutting the deficit to just two runs at 10-8 after seven.

The Mounties thwarted the Panthers momentum with Legath's RBI single in the top of the eighth and hung on for the 11-8 victory.

The Panthers have a quick turnaround as they host Penn State Altoona in a crucial AMCC doubleheader with postseason implications. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. from the Kessel Athletic Complex.
