PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team (3-7) dropped a pair of games at Ursinus (11-4), Saturday afternoon at Thomas Field. 

The Panthers fell 3-0 in the opener and dropped the finale 7-1.

Brock Blovsky, Austin Parent, Pat James, Tim Brown and Jacob Rivers had one hit each for the Panthers in the game one loss.

Ryan Northcott took the loss, but pitched well yet again. The right-hander tossed eight strong innings, allowing just three runs while striking out four.

Chris Jablonski, Alex Campbell and Kieran Geyer drove in one run each for Ursinus while Sean Pisik picked up the victory on the mound with seven shutout innings. Seth Regensburg earned the save with a scoreless ninth.

The Bears took an early 2-0 lead as Jablonski roped an RBI double in the first and Geyer had an RBI groundout in the second. 

Ursinus added their third and final run in the fifth on Campbell's single to right. The Bears hung on for the 3-0 victory. 

Rivers drew a bases loaded walk to bring in the Panther's only run in game two while James added two hits. The Panthers drew eight walks in the game and left 15 on base in the loss. Justin Beimel battled on the mound, but was credited with the loss. 

Carter Usowski led the Bear's offense with two RBI while Vincent Terry, Geyer and Jablonski drove in one run each in the victory. 

Connor Moriarty earned the victory on the mound, tossing three innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits while striking out one and walking one. The Bears used five pitchers in the victory. 

Ursinus once again got out to a fast start, scoring all seven of their runs in the first three innings.

Jablonski put the Bears on the board with an RBI single and scored later in the inning on a wild pitch to give Ursinus a 2-0 lead after one.

The Bears extended their lead to 3-0 in the home half of the second on a throwing error.

The Panthers got on the board, tightening the Ursinus lead to 3-1 when Rivers drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the fourth.

However, the Bear's offense exploded for four runs in the home half. Terry legged out an RBI bunt single, Usowski followed with an RBI double and Geyer had an RBI groundout to cap the four-run fourth, giving the Bears a 7-1 lead after four.

Neither team plated a run over the final three innings and Ursinus completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory.

The Panthers return to action Tuesday for a doubleheader at Houghton at 3 p.m.
