Baseball Drops Two to Salem State

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader with Salem State on Monday afternoon at Terry Field in Fort Myers.

The Panthers fell 9-3 in the first game and dropped the finale 19-4.

Pat James led the Panthers with two hits, including a solo homer. Brock Blovsky and Kevin Sompel added two hits and one RBI each in the loss.

Ryan Northcott settled in nicely after a tough first inning, striking out three and walking just one despite earning the loss on the mound.

Joe White led the Vikings at the plate with three RBI while Richard Fecteau and Jose Cedano drove in two runs each in the victory. Ryan Kelleher earned the win on the mound with four innings of relief.

Jacob Rivers led the Panthers in game two with his first collegiate home run while Austin Parent and Sompel had two hits and one RBI each in the loss.

Mike Davis, Alex Toomey and Dan Connors led the Vikings with three RBI each while Tim Richardson earned the win with three strikeouts.

The Panthers conclude their Fort Myers trip Tuesday morning with a doubleheader against Edgewood at the Player Development Complex beginning at nine.
