Panthers to Host Alfred State in Key AMCC Matchup

Bradford, PA. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will return home Tuesday night to take on AMCC-leading Alfred State.

The Panthers are 8-13 this season and 2-1 in AMCC play which puts them in a tie for second. Over the weekend they played in a tri-match at Pitt-Greensburg, winning a conference match 3-1 against the hosts, but falling 3-0 to Maine-Fort Kent in game two. Ruby Smith tallied a career-high 18 kills in the win over Pitt-Greensburg. Olivia Reese leads the Panthers in kills with 214, which puts her in 2nd place in the AMCC. Tabitha Walker leads the AMCC in assists with 613, while Kayla Maslowski and Stephanie Carson are both in the top 5 in digs with 295 and 251 digs respectively.

Alfred State is 14-6 this season with a 3-0 record in conference play. They are currently on a 9-game winning streak, which includes a win over Mount Aloysius over the weekend. The Pioneers have 4 players who have eclipsed the 100-kill mark, led by Racquel Gerstenberger and Keturah Gregory who have put down 201 and 185 kills each. They use a pair of setters as Nayomie Ferrer Santiago leads the team with 363 assists and Alexa Perez is behind her at 225. Adeline Milligan leads the defensive effort with 226 digs.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in KOA Arena.
