Panthers Head To Penn State-Altoona For Regular Season Finale

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will look to end the 2018 regular season on a three-match winning streak as it travels to Penn State-Altoona Saturday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest.

The Panthers enter the final weekend of the regular season with a 6-2 record in AMCC action and a 16-12 mark overall. Pitt-Bradford is third in the AMCC standings, behind Penn State-Behrend and Mount Aloysius both at 7-1.

Penn State-Altoona and Pitt-Bradford shared the AMCC Regular Season Championship a season ago, both finishing 7-2 in conference play. Both teams were projected to finish tied for first once again in the 2018 Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Altoona holds a 5-3 record in conference play, entering the weekend having won four-straight matches.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off two consecutive three-set wins at Pitt-Greensburg Saturday and against Hilbert Wednesday.

Against Hilbert, Katie Treat hammered a game-high nine kills while Emily Cleveland added eight kills.

Payton Orzech had 25 assists, Gesica Ferrar had six and Caitlin Cipriano assisted four of the team's kills.

Laura Hildebrand had 14 digs to lead the Panther defense.

All 19 active Pitt-Bradford players saw time in the three-set match.

Pitt-Bradford continues to rank in the upper echelon of NCAA Division III in many stat categories, highlighted by Hildebrand ranking 17th nationally with 550 total digs.

Riley Anderson ranks 41st in the NCAA with 340 kills and Cleveland ranks 69 with 322 kills.

Penn State-Altoona's top hitter is Kelsey Bristol, whose 100 kills in conference play are fourth most in the AMCC. Lauren Moran's 22 service aces in conference play also lead the AMCC.

Saturday's match is set for a 1 p.m. start.
