Panthers Head To Pitt-Greensburg For AMCC Road Match Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team is set to hit the road for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match at Pitt-Greensburg Saturday.

The Panthers enter the weekend with a 4-2 mark in AMCC action and a 14-12 overall record, good for third place in the conference standings.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a tough five-set loss against Penn State-Behrend Tuesday.

Up two sets to one in the fourth, the Panthers had Behrend at match point, but could not find the game winner, forcing a decisive fifth set.

Riley Anderson led the Panthers with 17 kills and Emily Cleveland was close behind with 16. 

Payton Orzech assisted 43 of Pitt-Bradford's 50 total kills, and she added four kills of her own.

Defensively, Laura Hildebrand led the team with 26 digs, while Orzech (16), Anderson (15), Alexis Constantino (13) and Alayna Seggi (10) were also in double-figures.

Anderson and Orzech each recorded double-doubles. 

At the net, Alexandra Segura led the team with five blocks assisted while Katie Treat assisted four. Elizabeth Johnson had three solo blocks.

As a team, the Panthers continue to own one of the top defenses in the country, as their 1,907 total digs are the third-most in NCAA Division III and 189.0 total blocks are ninth most nationally.

Hildebrand's 528 total digs are the ninth most in the country, while Treat's 81 total blocks rank 40th nationally.

Anderson and Cleveland remain one of the top hitting duos in the country, as Anderson's 324 total kills are 24th nationally and Cleveland's 311 total kills are 37th in NCAA Division III. The two Panthers occupy the top-two spots in total kills in the AMCC.

Distributing the ball to the hitters is Orzech, whose 847 assists are 30th-most in the country.

Pitt-Greensburg welcomes Pitt-Bradford with a 1-21 overall record and a 1-5 mark in AMCC action. Alexis Ray's 133 kills lead the team, while Emma Dongilli's 6.02 assists per set rank third in the conference.

Saturday's match is set for a 1 p.m. start.
