Panthers To Close Out Non-Conference Schedule At Frostburg State Tri-Match Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a pair of contests in a tri-match at Frostburg State Saturday.

The Panthers will begin the day taking on York (Pa.) at 2 p.m. followed by a match against the host Frostburg State at 4 p.m.

Pitt-Bradford (14-9) is coming off a solid three-set win at Medaille Wednesday. The Panthers have won five of their last six matches.

Riley Anderson knocked a game-high 11 kills. Katie Treat had eight kills while Emily Cleveland had seven.

Payton Orzech assisted 26 of the team's 35 total kills.

Anderson also led the team with 10 digs for a double-double.

Laura Hildebrand had nine digs while Alexis Constantino had eight.

The Panthers had a big night at the net, recording 10 assisted blocks and a pair solo.

Elizabeth Johnson assisted three blocks while Alexandra Segura and Treat each had a solo block.

The two teams battled to a competitive first set.

Neither team had a solid hold on the lead until the Panthers scored seven of the last 10 total points to win, 25-20.

The Panthers tightened up in set two, hitting a .250 percentage and taking the win by an identical score of 25-20.

Pitt-Bradford had its best set hitting in the third, knocking 13 kills and committing just three errors on 33 attempts for a .303 percentage.

Tight early on, the Panthers went on a run that eventually gave them a 21-10 lead. 

Eventually, a kill from Orzech sealed the set win and gave Pitt-Bradford the three-set match victory.

The Panthers hold third place in the AMCC with a conference record of 4-1. Their 14 total wins are tied with Penn State-Behrend for the most in the conference.
