Panthers Welcome D'Youville Tuesday For AMCC Match

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will play its first home match since Sept. 6 as it welcomes D'Youville to the KOA Arena Tuesday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match.

The Panthers are coming off a week in which they split their two AMCC matches.

On Wednesday, the Panthers claimed the program's first road win at Penn State-Behrend since 2011, defeating the Lions in straight sets.

Riley Anderson and Emily Cleveland led the way with 10 kills apiece, while Payton Orzech assisted 21. 

Laura Hildebrand led the Panthers with 11 digs, while Erin Fagan had six blocks assisted and Katie Treat had five. 

On Saturday, the Panthers fought to five sets at Franciscan but were ultimately defeated.

Cleveland led the Panthers with 14 kills while Orzech assisted 37.

Throughout the match, Hildebrand made several acrobatic defensive plays to keep the ball alive for the Panthers, many leading to Pitt-Bradford points. She had 20 total digs.

Fagan assisted five blocks.

Cleveland sits second in the conference with 160 total kills, averaging 2.62 per set.

Hildebrand has the third-most digs in the AMCC with 290, 4.68 per set.

With 0.79 blocks per set, Fagan holds the second-best mark in the conference. Treat is right behind at 0.72.

Pitt-Bradford currently sits a 2-2 in AMCC action, sitting at sixth in the conference.

Tuesday's action will begin at 7 p.m. 

About D'Youville:

  • The D'Youville Spartans come into the KOA Arena with a 7-11 overall record and a 0-2 mark through their first two AMCC matches.
  • The Spartans dropped both matches in the AMCC Quad on Sept. 23 against Mount Aloysius and Penn State-Altoona – both in five sets.
  • Megan Schneider leads the team with 2.12 kills per set and has the second-most kills on the team with 127. Kendyll Smith leads the way with 131 kills. Alexandra Bubar has 242 digs on the year, 3.90 per set.
  • Talia Wright and Abby Booth have two of the toughest serves in the conference, as Wright averages 0.50 services aces per set and Booth has a mark of 0.47.
