Lady Panthers split doubleheader 3-1, 3-0

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team split its doubleheader with meet-host SUNY Brockport and D'Youville on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Panthers defeated D'Youville 3-1 and fell to Brockport 3-0.

Pitt-Bradford (6-10) played back-to-back matches during the day's action and came away with the split.

The Lady Panthers defeated D'Youville (6-8, 0-1) 25-23, 17-25, 25-8 and 25-22. Game three's margin marks the highest margin of victory for the Panthers this season.

During the match, Pitt- Bradford was led by senior Taylor McMillen with 17 kills. Junior Jenessa Ceprish tallied 15 digs and senior Brittni Cumberland registered 20 assists.

In the second match, SUNY Brockport (10-4) defeated the Panthers 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21.

McMillen paced the offense with six kills and one block. Freshman Erin Fagan finished with two kills, three aces and one block.

Defensively, Ceprish had 12 digs and added two aces to lead Pitt-Bradford.

The Panthers return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 24, as Allegany comes to the KOA Arena for a 7 p.m. match.
