Lady Panthers drop game one of Lycoming Tournament

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team dropped its opening match of the Lycoming Tournament to Susquehanna, 3-0. The Lady Panthers fell 25-14, 25-16 and 25-21.

Pitt-Bradford (4-7) put together a strong offense in each match and put points on the board to show for it. However, the Panthers failed to match the intensity of the Crusaders and as a result, fell in the end.

Offensively, Brittni Cumberland guided the Panthers statistically with seven kills, eight assists and five digs. Fellow senior Taylor McMillen tallied eight kills, one assist and one dig.

Defensively, sophomore Kelsey Repke registered 15 digs. Senior Peyton Kauffman had a strong outing at the net, finishing with 11 assists and five digs defensively.

Pitt-Bradford went toe-to-toe with the Crusaders for three rounds before Susquehanna's offense proved too much for the Panthers. The Crusaders out-dueled the Panthers 34 kills to 27 and were able to finish rallies that gave them the edge in the end.

Pitt-Bradford has three games remaining on its schedule for the Lycoming Tournament. The first of which is at 8 p.m. versus York. Saturday's lineup consists of Catholic and tournament-host Lycoming at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
