Jessica Jordan Named AMCC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Bradford, PA -- Junior Jessica Jordan of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's Tennis team was named Player of the Week by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference on Monday.

Jordan picked up the honor for her performance in all three of her team's matches over the weekend, with the Panthers winning two out of three. She competed at # 5 singles and #3 doubles along with teammate Caroline Hance.

On Friday, Jordan picked up two of Pitt-Bradford's four points against Medaille. In doubles' play, Jordan and Hance picked up a hard fought 8-6 victory and followed that up with a 6-3, 6-4 singles victory.

The rest of the weekend got better for Jordan as she breezed to four more wins. Facing Penn State Behrend, Jordan was part of an 8-1 doubles victory and picked up a second point with a 6-1,6-1 victory in singles.

Jordan capped off competition with a dominant effort on Sunday. Facing Pitt-Greensburg, Jordan and Hance won their doubles match 8-1 for the second consecutive day and Jordan improved her performance in singles, shutting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in singles competition.

Jessica, and the rest of the Panther Women's Tennis team, will bring their regular season to a close this weekend. They host LaRoche at 5:00 PM on Friday and Penn State Altoona at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled to be played on the Tennis Courts at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
