
BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season Saturday, defeating Alfred 5-4 at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
Pitt-Bradford picked up two wins in doubles action, the first coming in No. 2 as Abbie Buerkle and Aaliyah Smith defeated their opponents 8-7 (8).
The other Panther win in doubles came in the No. 3 spot where Jessica Jordan and Caroline Hance picked up an 8-2 victory.
Then in singles action, Smith won in the No. 4 spot, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4 for the Panthers.
Jessica Jordan once again won for the Panthers, picking up the No. 5 singles win at 6-2, 6-3.
The final Panther point of the day came in the No. 6 spot as Hance won 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 spot.
Up next for the Panthers, D'Youville will come to town for the team's first conference match on Saturday, Sept. 14.
