
BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team opened up its season Friday hosting Fredonia at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
The Blue Devils defeated the Panthers, 6-3, in the team's season opener.
In doubles action, Pitt-Bradford earned a victory in the No. 3 spot as Jessica Jordan and Caroline Hance topped their opponents 8-4.
Then in singles, the Panthers picked up some hard-earned wins in the No. 5 and 6 spots.
Jessica Jordan once again earned a win for the Panthers, grinding out a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (5) victory in the No. 5 spot.
Then in No. 6 singles, Hance also gave the Panthers another victory with a tough 6-3, 7-6 (3) triumph.
Elanie Roberts, Abbie Buerkle, Rebecca Jordan and Aaliyah Smith also competed for the Panthers.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will stay home and have a quick turnaround as Alfred comes to the Kessel Athletic Complex Saturday at 1 p.m.
