D'Youville Narrowly Squeaks Past Panthers

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team worked its closest match of the season so far but narrowly fell at D'Youville Sunday.

The Spartans came out on top, 5-4.

The Panthers picked up wins in No. 3 doubles and No. 4, 5 and 6 singles.

In doubles action, Aaliyah Smith and Abbie Buerkle came out on top, 8-3.

In No. 4 singles, Buerkle picked up her win in tough fashion, gutting out a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 win.

Jessica Jordan picked up her No. 5 singles win in convincing fashion, 6-3, 6-1, and Katelyn Wells won her singles match 7-5, 6-0.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Tuesday at Medaille.
