ERIE, Pa. – The No. 6 University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team fell to No. 3 Penn State-Behrend, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in the first round of the 2017 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament.

"We controlled rallies without taking big risks and we dialed up the pace when needed," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "Overall, though, it was important to each player to step up and show that we have the talent to be real threats next year. This season was worthy of a round of applause from all the Pitt-Bradford followers."

In doubles action, the No. 3 team of Rebecca Jordan and Aaliya Smith earned a convincing 8-4 win to put the Panthers on the board.

The No. 2 doubles team of Maya Bingaman and Jessica Jordan played a tight doubles match but narrowly fell, 8-6.

Ashley Stoltz claimed the second Panthers' victory with a 6-4, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles.

Alexa Holleran took her No. 1 opponent to three sets, but fell, 10-6, in the tiebreaker.

Saturday's action wraps up the Panthers' 2017 season.

Pitt-Bradford earned three conference victories throughout the season, including a convincing 6-0 win against D'Youville on the last day of the season to clinch a spot in the AMCC playoffs.

On the season, two-time AMCC Player of the Week Stoltz led the way with nine singles wins, eight against conference opponents.

Stoltz and her No. 1 doubles partner Holleran claimed five doubles wins on the season as a duo. For the senior Holleran, Saturday's action served as her final match as Pitt-Bradford student-athlete.

Next season, the Panthers are set to return six players: Bingaman, Smith, Stoltz, Katelyn Wells, Jessica Jordan and Rebecca Jordan.
