BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team was defeated by the Franciscan Thursday evening, 9-0

"As a team, we had serves and forehands to give the top AMCC team a few fits," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "The singles matches of Ashley and Jessica, with their mix of talent, ensured that they played plenty of roller coaster points to make it interesting."

Franciscan sits atop the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference standings with a perfect 5-0 record in conference play.

Ashley Stoltz gave her No. 4 singles opponent a tough match as she pushed it to three sets with a win in set two but ultimately fell.

In No. 6 singles, Jessica Jordan and her opponent went to a tiebreaker but Jordan narrowly fell, 6-4, in the deciding set.

In doubles action, the No. 1 doubles team of Alexa Holleran and Stoltz put together a tight match but lost, 7-4.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Tuesday as Fredonia comes to town.
