Women's Tennis Ends Season With 6-3 Victory over D'Youville

OLEAN, N.Y. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team closed out the 2015 season with a 6-3 victory over D'Youville , Saturday afternoon at the Olean Racquet Club.

Alexa Holleran and Emily Fowkes won at first doubles, and Amy Thomas and Isla Swindles won at second doubles. Myeasha Williams, Fowkes, Thomas, and Swindles all added singles victories to cap the 6-3 win the season finale.

Prior to the final match of the season, the women's tennis team honored their two seniors Edith Llloyd-Etuwewe and Fowkes.

"Emily is a skilled player with a strong serve, consistent forehand and her real strength is her determination," said Pitt-Bradford women's tennis coach Susan Schenfield. "She was a great captain that will leave behind a wonderful legacy. Her leadership will be missed."

Lloyd-Etuwewe just wrapped up her first and final year of collegiate tennis and made noticeable strides throughout the year.

"Although it was her first year of collegiate tennis, she never lost her focus or that look of determination," Schenfield said. "She has really given her all every time she stepped on the court."
