GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team continued its season-opening road series Tuesday at Thiel, falling 2-1.
Pitt-Bradford (1-2) scored a late goal but two early tallies from Thiel would be too much for the Panther comeback effort.
Thiel's goals came in the 36th and 52nd minutes.
Pitt-Bradford responded quickly, as Taylor Sutryk took a feed from Emily Goetz and buried it just three minutes later.
However, the Tomcats would hold off the Panthers and secure the win.
Emily Bethel had a busy night in goal for the Panthers, stopping 13 of 15 shots sent her way.
As a team, Pitt-Bradford shot 13 times and put six on goal, led by Sutryk and Cassidy Fenner with two shots on goal apiece.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will play its first home contest as Allegany comes to town Thursday at 4 p.m.
