Edinboro, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford wrestling team began their 2024-25 campaign with a difficult challenge on Friday, taking on Division 1 Edinboro and Division II Seton Hill at the Boro Duals. The Panthers lost 55-0 to the hosts and then 51-6 to Seton Hill in their second matchup.
The Panthers started the day against the hosts, who shut out the Panthers 55-0. Only D.J. Slovick was able to go the distance, falling by major decision at 184.
Match two saw the Panthers equally mismatched, but they were able to pick up a victory, falling to the Griffins 51-6. The Lone win went to Slovick, who pinned his opponent at 4:59 to earn maximum points for Pitt-Bradford. Gavin Thompson took hs match the distance, falling by a major decision at 285.
The Panthers will be back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.
