Greensburg, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford returned to action after the holiday break on Saturday, bowling in the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic, a USBC event held in Greensburg, Pa. and hosted by Saint Vincent. The Panthers totaled 4587 pins over 3 traditionally scored games and 3 Baker games to finish the event in 3rd place
Pitt-Bradford continually improved their traditional scores over the three games, blowing an 817 in game one, then an 865 in game two before closing the format with their best game at 914. Brookelyn Garvey led the Panthers in the format, finishing with an average of 187, good for 8th place overall. Mackenzie Gill was four spots behind her at 179.33 pins per game. Erin Wales finished 2 spots and 3 pins behind Gill with an average of 176.33 to finish 14th. Jaylee Koppenhaver made the top 25, finishing in 23rd with an average of 164. Olivia Shultz came in 42nd bowling in just two games with a total pinfall of 357. Emma Pablic bowled in one game, posting a score of 121.
In the baker format, the Panthers bowled 12 total games, averaging 165.9 pins per game. They surpassed 200 twice, bowling a 211 in their third game and posting a high of 227 in game 7.
The Panthers will return to action on Saturday, January 25th, when they head to Erie for a dual match with Penn State-Behrend.
