Panthers Return from Break to Host Villa Maria

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team returns to action after the Thanksgiving break to host Villa Maria on Wednesday evening.

The Panthers have gotten off to a difficult start as they are 0-5 so far this season. Just before the break, Pitt-Bradford took on former AMCC foe Medaille in the second game of a back-to-back stretch. The Panthers led the Mavericks in the fourth quarter but were unable to finish strong as they were outscored 18-1 down the stretch, ultimately falling 71-60. Alexa Ackerman and Ashley Hall both scored 15 points in the loss. Hall shot 50% from the field, including 3 of 6 from three. She also added 5 rebounds. Ackerman went 6-14 from the field, 3-7 from beyond the arc, and finished with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. 

The Villa Maria Vikings are 2-1 so far this season. They began their campaign with a loss to Maine-Augusta but have since won two in a row, defeating SUNY Adirondak 65-63 and Community College of Beaver County 82-45. They have also had three games postponed. Autumn Adams-Edwards has averaged 14.3 points per game to lead the Vikings. Maria Falanga has added 13 per contest and averages 8.3 rebounds per game.
